DEWS AND CHERRY EYES!!! Sharon Showers from TR Danes asked THE GROUP about how much responsiblity is that of the breeder to take care of in the regards to fixing a dew claw that grew back!! Sharon also asked about cherry eyes and if they were genetic!!!  The responses were great!!!  Most of you felt that removing the dews were very painful for the dog as the dog got older and that if your contract did not include the removal of dews that a breeder should not be responsible if the dew grows back.  On whether cherry eyes are genetic, there were mixed opinions on this and not sure.

Looks like there is a predispostion in some breeds, so the inherent factor cannot be excluded, but in breeds where it is not, have been caused by infections, etc.
