Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

This forum will present different arrays of health concepts, some may not be conventional, but will be informative and interesting we hope!!!!

GETTING IN TOUCH WITH YOUR PETS

You know that feeling when your pet looks at you with those eyes.  Your heart melts.  If only you could better know your pet.  If only you could have a better sense of how they feel.  If only you knew how to do a wellness assessment on your pets.   Interested?  Keep reading.

The first step is to open your heart.  How?  By feeling the love you have for your furry children.  No emails or text messaging will be recognized.  Next, sit with your pet at a quiet time.  Speak softly to your pet.  Stroke your pet if your pet is comfortable with this.  Tell your pet you LOVE him/her.  Ask your pet for permission to know it more deeply.  Watch the eyes.  Do you get a yes?  Do the eyelids blink slowly? Does the pet relax more?  Does the pet touch you?  These are some signs of yes.  Does the pet get up and move away?  This may not be the right time, try again later.

If I asked you to describe your living room, what are the first few words that come to mind?  Is it a color, a feeling, objects/shapes, smells, emotions?  This question is very important.  Why?

When you communicate with your pet, the way you described your room is probably the way you will "sense" what they will convey to you at first.  For example; If you said color, your pet may send you sunny, light, bright or peaceful colors if it feels well and dark, murky, foggy colors if it is ill.  If you said a feeling, you may feel at peace if well, or nausea or a sense that something isnt quite right.  If it was an object or shape, you may get the sense of balance or distortion.  You may pick up subtle smells of pleasant or unpleasantness.  If your unsure then ask yourself is it you?  If the answer is no, then you will be picking up what your pet conveys.  It takes practice.  Dont get discouraged.  Dont force an answer.  We have all heard "baby steps" and this is the way it goes.

When you sit and stroke your pet, pay attention to its body language.  Is it content?  Is there a "sensitive" spot?  Does it cry or pull away when your near that area?  Do you sense a temperature
difference?  Is it hotter/colder than normal?

These are the first few steps in getting to know your pet.  I will go into more detail and give you a step by step wellness assessment instructions in an upcoming article.

Remember, these are God's creatures and they need all the love, understanding and compassion, no less than what we expect for ourselves from our God.  Until next time!!!
