MAGAZINE VS. CD
We all like to curl up with a good book every now and then, but we will review some pros and cons why CDs are the wave of the future for advertising. I remember when I worked in the llibrary in high school and all the periodicals were microfished. WOW we have come a long way since then. We at the Gallery decided from the start that a CD would be part of our program. So, below, we would like to offer the reasons we chose to do so.
STORAGE: If you are like me, I have a room full of Great Dane periodicals spread all over in various bookcases, etc. CDs take up very little room!!!!
WEAR AND TEAR: As most of the stud issues were like a bible to me, learning pedigrees and such, they are pretty worn out, bindings falling apart, fading, etc!!! CDs are easily cared for, and as long as you dont abuse them with heat or scratching the surface, will last virtually indefinitely.!!
DEADLINES: As we are in the information age, printed material has alot more deadlines, and those deadlines are always the responsibility of i.e. the printer, who as you know from past periodicals have fallen short in the long term, making our beloved magazines months and months late. For online ads, we have no deadlines, and the CDs will be a copy of your ads placed so that you can always refer back to them.
ARCHIVING: It is so much easier to archive a CD. How many of you have done this. Wanted to find an article or certain dog to look up and spent hours thumbing through back issues to find what you were looking for? Guilty here and frustrating. The CD can be catagorized much easier!!!
These are just a few reasons to have a CD copy of your ads, virtually indestructable, easy to find info, and easy storage, and hey you can always curl up with your laptop!!!
